Perdoc Byzeusthians have concluded the season by winning the 2024 FFACUP, for a record 3rd time.
Manager Baynes Senior kept his excitment under control with a short statement:
"Why thank you. Think I've found my forte."

The SFP title race ends with RB Magicmen claiming a record 5th SFP title.
After knocking Wheelers from their perch in late January, Jermy's men have been relentless, and finished just 8 points behind 2018/19 Rob-O-Klopps all time record finishing total.
Jermy Jnr. will be left wondering what more he could have done. Registering the 4th highest score of all time, COBU finish 125 points ahead of 3rd place. The best team ever to not win the title, but gracious in defeat and had this to say about Jermy rivals:
"Congratulations to big brother, think I may have gotten the 4th best SFP score in 30 years, but wasn't enough, blown us all out the water. Fully deserved."
Manager Crockford also shared his congratulations:
"Congrats to the chairman on his league win, most deserved"
And Manager Pritchard Jnr.:
"Great effort Magicmen. Top season"

In the SFP Cup Final replay, a Wissa and Havertz goal late on was enough to finally earn Pritchard Snr. his first SFP honour in 30 years.
Huge congratulations to camp Flying Pigs, may the floodgates now open.
Manager Pritchard Snr. was relieved to finally get his hands on SFP silverware:
"29 years in the making and the ‘monkey on our back’ has been lifted. The cobwebs in the trophy cabinet have been dusted away and everyone at Pigs HQ is delighted.
We had a full rebrand this season, with new kit and sponsor so it’s great to have had success both on and off the field.
Assistant manager Otto Pritchard added ‘I’m pleased we’ve won an extra £15.’
We’d like to take the opportunity to thank all those who supported us throughout this campaign. Onwards and upwards."

A Bruno Guimaraes goal helped Le Mons Lightning claim this seasons 5ASide Cup.
It was a competition Le Mons had been fully committed to since the turn of the year, allocating 192 points to 5ASide Cup success.
Their final opposition Rob-O-Klopp have had a long, difficult season, and needed a Rasmas Hojlund goal in the the last game of the weekend to claim the only major honour missing from Dale's trophy cabinet. However, it wasn't to be, and it leaves manager Dale empty handed, and, for the 4th season in a row with no meaningful SFP silverware.
Manager Earl reacted to the win:
"Absolutely delighted from what has been a tough season through injury, but it's always nice to grab some silverware. All the best to Rob-O-Flop as I know it's been a tough season for him."

The Flying Pigs have become the latest SFP club to release a new club badge ahead of the 30th Anniversary season.
The Pigs have also introduced new brand colours, moving away from their traditional green, to a slicker black with pig-pink tones.
Manager Pritchard Snr. is also proud to announce a new sponsorship deal, with the hope he can build on early season form and continue with upward momentum. Could this finally be his season? The deal is with SFP legend David 'Hazza' Hadingham, as Mr H's Hog Roasts adorn the new kit.
After steering 'Budweiser - King of Ditchwater' to 7th place in the 1995/96 season, Hadingham also appeared as guest auctioneer in 2015. He now makes a long-awaited return to the SFP:
"To quote from a famous person, well it’s just me really … I, Mr David Hadingham, owner of Mr H’s Hog Roast Co Ltd is delighted to sponsor the Flying Pigs."
"What with our traditional hog roasts and excellent food, the offering goes hand-in-hand with the exceptional Flying Pigs"

Be More Chugs do just that by claiming the 2023 Super Cup - the same trophy FC Chuggernaut won this time last year.
In the Super Cup, Manager Peggs was victorious, lifting his 11th career trophy, leapfrogging Manager Walters in the process to 5th in the HOF;
"Winning this really doesn’t mean anything to me. But it’s still one more trophy than Walters will win this year, so that’s something."

Auction 29 took the premier league player list to a foreign country for the first time in SFP history, as a dozen managers swapped England for the green, green grass of Ireland and Manager Earl’s newly adopted home.

After a joyous afternoon's crawl from Cork airport into town, via an audience with the latest member of the Earl family - Fred, Manager Edwards directed the troop to his pre-booked accommodation.

The few 'location' based grumbles that had presented themselves on Auction Eve duly dissipated, and everyone was full of praise for Edwards choice - a townhouse in the beautiful setting of Cobh, which would be home for the next 36 hours.

Baynes Junior was up first for a bit of last minute research over coffee, before all had breakfast in the Irish sunshine on a Cobh side-street overlooking the Quay.

After bagels and more coffee, it was down to business back at the house. Manger Lucchesi dialled in as usual from South Korea, joined online, and not in person for the first time ever, by manager Peggs back in Blighty.

As per usual, Goalkeepers kicked things off and Ederson was again re-signed by Cheese and Onion Biscuits United for the 5th season in a row. However general spending was down on average for the man between the sticks, from last years £4.9 to £3.9m. The top three spenders were:
7.2 – Ederson, Nick
6.4 – Onana, Mike
6.1 – Alisson, Lawrence

Defenders were up next, and for the 6th season in a row overall spending on a back line dropped further, with the average spend on defence falling from £11.5m last year to just £10.0m. Top defender was Alexender-Arnold at £8.5m who this year signed for the Wheelers:
8.8 – Alexander-Arnold, Walters
5.8 – Robertson, Nick
5.5 - Stones, Nick
With little time for a break, it was swiftly on to the next batch of players. The auctioneer's seat was vacated by the Chairman as manager Pritchard Snr. took the helm for the midfielders. Spending in this category was up year on year, with managers forking out an average of £13.3m on this position compared to last year's £12.2m. The big 3 signings were:
10.4 - Saka, Matt
9.7 – Fernandes, Mike
8.6 - De Bruyne, Scott

Finally, it was time for the showpiece forwards finale. It felt like so many managers had saved money back for Erling Haaland, and it proved to be so as the Man City forward was not only the most expensive sale of the day, but of and auction in SFP history. Both FC Chuggernaut and Al-Munson had held back in excess of £40m each, 80% of their budgets, to bid for the big man.

The general feeling that a record was about to be broken came to the fore, and as bidding passed the 18 year old record; the £31.1m that the Chairman paid for Thierry Henry in 2005, we wondered how far bidding would go. Pritchard Junior and McNamara went blow for blow, all the way to £39m before FC Chuggernaut were able to re-sign their star buy from last year. Top buys were:
39.0 – Haaland, Ed
19.0 – Salah, Martin
16.7 – Rashford, Scott

And with that, one of the greatest auctions of all time was concluded. Managers Peggs and Lucchesi logged out, while the Irish contingent headed into the town of Cobh for post-auction analysis over lunch, a few drinks, a wander round the quay, a few more drinks and a Chinese takeaway.

The 3 days of organised fun concluded with an early morning flight back to Stanstead, before all parties headed off full of hopes and dreams for the coming season...
