It’s fair to say that by the end of the 2005/06 season, running a league alongside a busy work and home life was becoming tricky.
It was also a time where other’s were also giving less of their own time to the managing of their sides, so the decision was made to move the league to one managed by a third party that could be run by itself.
In 2006/07 the SFP went back to it’s roots using the Classic Fantasy Footbal League web site as it’s host, using the classic scoring system. There was still an auction, held in the defending SFP Champions summer house (James Roberts). Auction highlights included Henry going of over £30m again, this time to Lawrence, and a relatively young Wayne Rooney going for £27m to Richie Powell.
The title race went right down to the wire, with eventual winner Michael Lucchesi pipping Richie Powel to the title by just a handful of points in the last couple of weekends. James Roberts collected the FFA Cup.
